Sayara is committed to protecting your privacy and processing your personal data in line with Qatar Law No. 13 of 2016 on Personal Data Privacy Protection and its regulations. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use and protect it, and your rights.
1. Data we collect
We collect the minimum needed to run the service: your phone number, display name, the ads and images you post, your IP address and activity time for security, and basic technical usage data.
2. Basis of processing and consent
We process your data based on your consent when using the Platform and creating an account, to deliver the requested service, and to meet legal requirements. You may withdraw your consent at any time as permitted by law.
3. Purposes of processing
We use your data to run the service, verify identity via the code, review ads, contact you, protect the Platform and prevent fraud, and improve the service.
4. Phone-number protection
Your phone number is protected and only revealed in an ad after an explicit user request, to prevent automated harvesting, using a signed, time-limited token.
5. Data sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your data. We may share it with trusted service providers to operate the service (such as the SMS verification provider), or with competent authorities upon lawful request. When you request publishing your ad to social channels, the ad data you choose is published publicly.
6. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as needed for processing purposes or as legally required. Deleting an ad performs a recoverable soft delete for a defined period before permanent deletion.
7. Data security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access or disclosure, including encryption and access controls.
8. Your rights
Under Law No. 13 of 2016 you have the right to access your data and request its correction, erasure, objection to processing, or withdrawal of consent, by contacting us.
9. Special-nature data
We do not request special-nature data; where handling it is necessary, it is done under the additional controls set by law.
10. Children's privacy
The Platform is intended for those aged 18 and over; we do not knowingly collect minors’ data.
11. Cookies and local storage
We use simple local storage to save preferences such as language and theme; we do not use it for advertising tracking.
12. Data transfer
Some data may be processed by service providers outside Qatar to the extent needed to run the service, with appropriate safeguards under the law.
13. Breach notification
If a breach affecting your data occurs, we take the necessary measures and notify the relevant authorities and individuals as required by Law No. 13 of 2016.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time; updates take effect once published on the Platform.
15. SMS and WhatsApp communications
We use your phone number to send service messages by SMS and WhatsApp, including verification codes and ad-status and expiry notices. These are delivered through trusted messaging providers.
16. Publishing via a rep
If your ad is posted on your behalf by an authorized rep, it is created under your phone number after your consent is verified with a code sent to your phone. The rep only sees the phone number needed to complete the service.
